Pituitary Stalk Interruption Syndrome
Findings:
Posterior pituitary bright spot noted in ectopic location in the Tuber Cinerum. The adenohypophysis is small. The pituitary stalk is not seen.
Discussion:
The Hallmark of Pituitary Stalk Interruption Syndrome is Ectopic Posterior Pituitary (EPP) associated with small adenohypophysis. Clinically it is characterized by Isolated Growth hormone deficency or multiple anterior pituitary hormone deficiency. The non visualization of Pituitary stalk even after Gadolinium administration , indicates severe adenohypophyseal dysfunction
