Infected Right Atrial Thrombus
Findings and discussion:
Gas can be seen within thrombus in the right atrium and SVC. This is an important and rare complication of central venous catheters. The gas is due to gas forming organisms which grow within the thrombus. The treatment for this condition is emergency surgery.
